Harry has been quoted as one in a million with a voice fuelled with passion, faith, personality and undying energy, making him one of the finest vocal talents to emerge out of Australia in the new millennium. The voice you hear is not only god given and sweet to the ears. It has the inner gift of bringing across the message of life. This is what makes Harry K. unique and this is what makes him like no other voice in the world today.
This is Harry K.
Harry started singing at a very early age when he would sing popular commercials to his family and he continued to perform for his teachers and friends at school in the late 60s through to the 70s. In his early years he sang naturally and didnt have aspirations as a performer except that he enjoyed singing. It wasnt till Harry turned 22 that he decided to join a band because it was a lot more fun than playing records. He joined his first band Chariot which lasted all but two years and his second band Woodstok was the band that took him to the Eastern states of Australia. In 1990 Harrys third band Fire and Ice broke into the Hollywood rock scene and it was here that he met and played with some of the finest musicians in the world. In Hollywood Harry performed in legendary venues the likes of the famous Whiskey a Go Go, Roxy Theatre, The Troubadour and FM station. Harry at this stage was also recording some of his finest music and guests included the likes of Teddy Zig Zag Andreadis (Guns n Roses, Michael Jackson and Carole King), Jeff Skunk Baxter (Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan) and the amazing Bun E Carlos of Cheap Trick.
Fire and Ice landed in Sydney Australia in 1994 and though record companies showed interest the band was still not signed. The band split up and Harry headlined hard rock outfit Raygun. Raygun ended up playing the traps around Sydney receiving attention from fellow musicians and music industry heavyweights however once again a record contract had not been realised. Harry at this point was also jamming with some of Sydneys finest musicians and word quickly got around that a great voice was on the scene. This may have been a great compliment however the pain of being told you had a voice and not having a record deal was too much. An illness in his family was also a heavy burden and in 1998 Harry went back home to Adelaide in South Australia. It was here that Harry did a lot of soul searching, and after the re-adjustment of being with his family, and contracting an illness that lasted 3 months, Harry had reached one of the lowest parts of his entire life.
Life challenges like these have made Harry what he is today and singing has taken on a new meaning. Its not just singing anymore, its an expression of life.
Today Harry is based in Adelaide and singing in clubs with fellow musician and songwriter Matt Williams. His ambition is to finally get his voice to the masses and the setup of his new web-site will help him realise this.
Please welcome, the soul, the sound, the voice of
Harry K.
